CRAWLEY SAINT PATRICKS FESTIVITIES 2006 - EVENTS

The Celtic and Irish Cultural Society wish to invite everyone throughout the area to converge on Crawley during the Saint Patrick's Festivities and enjoy an Irish festival celebration. Wherever your roots lie, celebrate them with the Irish in Crawley.

SAINT PATRICK's CELTIC WEAVE - SAT 11 MARCH 2006

Friary Hall, Haslett Avenue, Crawley - 8pm - [map]
Combining aspects of Celtic influences from throughout Europe, the critically acclaimed New Ross and District Pipe Band alongside the Dundrody Folk Group perform using traditional pipe, drum and acoustic instruments to create a unique weave of Breton, Irish and Scottish celtic music alongside song and story.

The award winning troupe will travel from County Wexford, Leinster, in the southeast of Ireland for the event and to join the CICS. The group will also lead the London Saint Patrick's on 12 March alongside the Celtic and Irish Cultural Society and groups from Crawley.

The event is just a short stroll from Crawley train and bus stations, parking is also available. Disabled access is provided.

IRISH NIGHT AT THE HAWTH - SAT 18 MARCH 2006

Lively, melodic Celtic tunes and a good singalong from local group Blackthorn and dance performances from the Mullins School of Irish Dancing

Mannie and Fergus McClelland, Philippe Barnes, Alex Percy and Sarah Mooney weave vocals, bouzouki, guitars, bodhran and whistles into a superb mix of Irish tunes, ballads and dances.

The local Mullins School of Irish Dancing ads to the mix with unique performances choreographed for the event. The dance school was recently placed highest among Sussex schools at the O'Loughlin Feis, Essex.
