Saturday 19th March 2005 -
"Wakin' of Saint Patrick"
At The Railway Club, Three Bridges, Crawley
SPONSORED BY COINFORD CONSTRUCTION
Featuring
Martin Donoghue, Donal Cox
The night hosted was hoted by television and west-end actor, Donal Cox
and involved storytelling, a themed Irish dance performance telling
the story of St Patrick and live music. Donal introduced dance
routines
from the
O'Brien School of
Irish Dancing and delivered excepts from a number of the
writings of
Saint Patrick as well as additional material.
Those of us that have heard the stories of "a wake" may think of it as
a hooley with singing and dancing. That is what we we wanted it to be!
A
night of singing, dancing and fun. All proceeds went to Saint
Catherine's Hospice and additional local charities.
