The Band had a very successful launch night at Kinnety Castle in Ireland recently where they released their latest album CD entitled "The Rough Cut". Hungry Grass play their own brand of energised traditional Irish and original music, from fast and furious reels to soulful ballads with a strong emphasis on improvisation and spontaneity.

The band have performed at venues throughout Europe including Iceland, cruise ships in Scandinavia, the Savoy Hotel, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, The Irish Embassy and The Royal Festival Hall. They have also played for the Mayor of London and performed at London's South Bank. During 2006, they have been featured on a number of television channels including RTE and SKY News. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.

The London based group is fronted by Offaly's power singer Peter Coughlan with John Gaughan on bass. Tunes are provided by Kane O'Rourke, Mark Conyard and Christian Vaughan-Spruce playing a mixture of instruments including pyrotechnic fiddle, whistles, bodhran and dynamic banjo.

They have also played for the Mayor of London and performed at London's South Bank.  During 2006, they have performed and been interviewed on RTE and Sky News. We now look forward to their visit to Crawley on the 17th.

With  a bar extension until midnight a good night is anticipated by all. Tickets are priced at £5 and are expected to go quickly so please book in advance to avoid disappointment . Proceeds of the raffle on the night will help fund the Crawley Irish Festival 2006 and, subsquently, supporting causes throughout the area.
