The Fureys and Davey Arthur, who celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2008, are responsible for some of the most stirring music ever to capture the public imagination.

During that time the band have regularly received standing ovations in some of the biggest concert halls of the world and some of their greatest admirers have ranged from the neighbours they grew up with in the Dublin suburb of Ballyfermot, to such eminent figures as Pope John Paul II, Irish President Mary McAleese, former Australian Prime Minister John Howard, and Tony Blair who has publicly stated that his favourite peace song of all time is the Fureys version of “The Green Fields of France” (See “The Green Fields of France” video (already over 450,000 viewings).
