Crawley Fleadh 2007

The Crawley Fleadh, is a celebration of traditional Irish culture taking place during November in and around Crawley, West Sussex. The event is organised by the Celtic and Irish Cultural Society with financial support from the Irish Government’s Dion Fund.

The Crawley Fleadh – pronounced flar - is a festival of varied traditional and modern events in celebration of Irish culture through a variety of different art forms and activities.

The 2007 event is the fourth of what has become an annual celebration as part of Crawley’s cultural calendar. The 2007 Crawley Fleadh features varied activities including music, comedy, dance, film, sport, story telling and cookery.

This is the second time the event has been held in November (to coincide with the academic term). The Fleadh 2007 will bring qualified Irish sports (GAA) coaches into primary schools for the first time in Crawley’s history - last year we introduced secondary school children to Gaelic Games.

For adults, stand-up Irish comedy, Irish language classes, set dancing classes and film screenings. There will also be plenty of activities for the whole family including free Irish dance lessons, live music and much more!
